About Maggie Mae's Designs

Maggie Mae’s Designs was established in 2007 when owner/artist Marissa Kaye's dream came true. She submitted an application to “The Children’s Bank” and was awarded seed money to start her own business. Marissa Kaye was featured in the Birmingham News for being one of two contestants to be awarded a business loan. Marissa said, “Owning my own business was a lifelong goal that I wanted to achieve.” She also said that her father owned his own business and she wanted to follow in his footsteps. Marissa is a recent high school graduate who recently started college. Maggie Mae’s Designs is named after Marissa’s most treasured friend—her Chihuahua, Maggie Mae.

Marissa started making jewelry at a young age. She now makes beautiful handcrafted jewelry items that are truly works of art. Marissa believes in quality, not quantity.
